Wednesday in Philly…
Published by Jana on December 28, 2008Well, the day we left for SoCal was a bit cold… but it had it’s perks as Kai found a few frozen puddles to jump on - I have found that you take what you can get in playing outside in the city. Splashing in puddles is a great way to get my kids excited about the outdoors - and when the puddles are frozen, it just adds a whole new dimension (even if the surroundings do leave much to be desired in terms of natural beauty…).
Still, I have to say that I preferred Thursday in SoCal over Wednesday in Philly… The weather was perfect - warm and sunny. Kai quickly found the sprinkler and turned it on repeatedly during our visit - usually right when someone was trying to walk up to the house. Kai wasn’t as enthusiastic about actually getting into the water as Taz was though - Taz couldn’t resist the promise of that cool water sprinkling down on his cute baby head.
I should have just stripped him down, it would have made it a lot easier as I spent a lot of time drying out wet clothes during our trip - no that I really minded - I loved that my kids could play outdoors anytime they wanted! And, I’ll admit I couldn’t resist the pull of the sprinkler either. Sometimes I think we have kids just so we can be kids ourselves again - or at least that’s an added perk of having kids. I loved just laying under the sprinkler and watching the beads of water catch the light… if you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it.
